Witchy Tips: Glamour Magick Routine

7 Ways to Be Witchy in Your Everyday Life

I love being witchy. But I'm not talking about aesthetics or labels. I'm talking about living with intention, making the little things sacred and honoring my energy and authenticity. It's about embracing childlike wonder in my everyday routine.

To me, being witchy means creating rituals that help me feel more like myself. It’s wearing colors that align with my seasonal palette to support my authenticity. It’s blessing my food before I eat it. It’s pausing to breathe in the scent of my perfume and letting that scent become an affirmation. It’s turning ordinary moments into energetic check-ins and quiet love notes to my inner child and future self.

Here are the ways I bring that witchy energy into my daily life.

1. Glamour Magick: Getting Ready as a Ritual

My morning beauty routine is sacred. It's more than just getting dressed or dolled up. Even though I work from home (and some days don’t even leave the house), I start by picking an outfit that aligns with my cool summer palette. I believe that the more I personalize my life to fit me, the more my authenticity shines through. Color is energy and I want to feel like the brightest, most favorite parts of myself are shining through in the clothing I wear. And feeling comfortable is just as important—you’ll never catch me in anything too tight or made of scratchy material.

I braid my hair most mornings, even if I end up taking it out later. As I braid each section, I set a tone for my day. I whisper, “I braid in power” or “I braid in peace” or “I braid in confidence.” Each braid is a way to thread positive and loving intentions into my energy before I do anything else. Once a week, I oil my hair and bless my roots with strength and fullness.

I also assign meaning to my makeup. When I apply highlighter, I imagine coaxing my inner light to shine through. Blush is a reminder to carry self-love on my face. Eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow help me connect with others on a soul level.

When I apply perfume or essential oils, I pause. I take in the scent fully. I might say an affirmation or simply breathe. That still moment grounds me and gives me space to check in with myself and set an intention for the day.

It’s not about how I look. It’s about how I feel.

2. Blessing My Food, Water and Body

Before I eat, I thank the food for giving its life to nourish mine. That moment of gratitude creates a deeper connection. I also try to choose foods that feel high-vibrational and nutritious—mostly fruits and vegetables. But I do have a sweet tooth and never deprive myself of something I’m genuinely craving. I want the food I consume to support not just my body but my energetic state and vibration.

I speak love into my tea and affirmations into my coffee. I bless my water with the energy I want to carry. I tell the plants in my vegetable garden that I’m nourishing them with love when I water them. These things may seem small but they help me feel in tune with nature and the world around me.

My body is my home and how I treat it is part of my spiritual practice.

3. Night Rituals: Skincare, Lavender Mist and Sleep Frequencies

My nighttime skincare routine feels like a continuation of my glamour magick from that morning.

As I wash my face, I imagine cleansing away anything that no longer serves me. Applying retinol becomes a moment to affirm that I am young at heart. When I use my moisturizer, I think, “I nourish my cells with love.”

After skincare, I spray lavender mist onto my pillow, get my weighted blanket ready and turn on subliminal affirmations layered with rain sounds from YouTube or a gentle sleep meditation from Insight Timer.

4. Energetic Protection: A Sacred Daily Practice

I protect my energy throughout the day. In the morning, I visualize a soft, healing and loving light around my body. Some days it's white, other days it’s pink, purple or gold. I ask that love and clarity move through me.

If I feel like I’ll need to protect my crown chakra, I wear my hair up in a high bun. Throughout the day I check in with myself and set clear energetic boundaries. Grounding meditations and EFT tapping help especially when I feel unbalanced or overstimulated.

These practices aren’t about fear. They’re about staying centered in who I really am.

5. Moon Rituals

I follow the lunar cycle throughout the month and do rituals based on the moon phase to reflect, manifest and cleanse emotionally and physically.

On the new moon, I set intentions. I write what I want to call in, speak it out loud and charge my tools and crystals with that energy.

On the full moon, I focus on release. I emotionally detox, clean my space and let go of anything that no longer aligns.

These cycles keep me in rhythm. They help me stay connected to natural timing. I’ll be sharing more about my moon rituals here on the blog soon because there’s so much beauty in working with the moon’s energy.

6. Magical Decor

Everything in my space has a purpose. Crystals, incense, plants and spell candles are not just decor. They support my energy. They bring intention into my environment.

A few charged items placed with care are more powerful than shelves of unused tools. I try to keep my space clear, beautiful and energetically aligned with the version of myself I want to live in.

Your home is your altar. Treat it with love.

7. Oracle Cards for Daily Connection

Each morning, I pull a card from my favorite oracle deck. Lately it’s the Spirit Animal Oracle by Colette Baron-Reid. I ask a simple question like, “What energy wants to guide me today?” I use the cards as a journaling prompt or something to meditate on.

It’s never about getting the “right” answer. It’s about creating a quiet moment to listen to myself and whatever guidance is meant to come through. Some days the message is obvious. Other days it unfolds slowly throughout the day.

You don’t need to be psychic. You just need to be open.

Final Thoughts

I try to make every day sacred. My rituals aren't just trends. They are quiet, beautiful ways I return to myself and bring magic into my life every day.
